Our Story

Who We Are:

Aunty Erin’s Estate and Fine Jewelry is owned and operated by Erin Walden, G.G. (A.K.A. Aunty Erin) with assistance from her hānai family and a carefully curated group of local craftsmen.

With over 40 years of experience in the jewelry industry, Aunty Erin likes to say that she has done “everything but the mining.”
She graduated valedictorian from The Gemological Institute of America's residency programme, where she studied under industry leaders like Gary Bowersox and Richard Liddicoat.

How We Got Here:

Aunty Erin first came to Honolulu in the early 1980’s where she managed a retail store for the prominent jewelry designer, Bernard Hurtig. She then served as a liaison between American jewelry designers (such as John Atencio, David Yurman, and Coffin & Trout) and the world-renowned stone-cutting factories in Idar Oberstein, Germany. In the early '90’s, she returned to the mainland to raise her family and establish a “Mom and Pop” jewelry store that is still operational after 35 years.
With her children grown and the Covid-19 pandemic upending the world, Aunty realized that it was time to return to her beloved ‘āina and made her way back to Honolulu in 2020.
She has since focused on expanding her knowledge of Hawai’ian designers and heirlooms like Ming’s Hawai’i and Ni’ihau shell jewelry.

In 2025, she established Aunty Erin’s Estate & Fine Jewelry, where she continues to use her knowledge and experience to help her clients with all of their jewelry-related needs.

What We Do:

Aunty Erin offers a wide range of services, including appraisals, stone procurement, repairs, jewelry-buying services, and restoring/reselling pre-loved, antique, and vintage jewelry. She also LOVES creating custom pieces to commemorate all of life’s events… Or just to "treat yo’self!"

For security purposes, we work by appointment only.
Once you have contacted us and made an appointment, we will send you a message through your preferred contact method with directions to our office.

What We Believe:

Aunty Erin and her hānai are committed to honoring the ‘āina and lāhui, with respect and gratitude for living in a place so rich in mana and aloha.  We strive to ensure that our lives, our business practices, and the fruits of our labor are pono.  We believe in integrity and want our creations to outlive us. With this in mind, we strive to produce works of substance and artistry that can be enjoyed for generations. We would rather make a friend for life than have a customer for a moment, and look forward to including you in our 'ohana.
