FAQ
What are the steps for designing custom jewelry?
To start, we ask that you book an appointment online (button at the bottom of this page) or contact us via your preferred method: text, call, email, snail mail. We will respond as soon as possible so that we can chat to learn more about your design goals, personal style, budget, etc.
If you have photos of inspirational items or design elements that you like, please send them our way! This gives us a clearer idea of your creative vision.
We will then schedule an appointment for you to visit our office and create/complete your design. This is when you will sit down with Aunty Erin and her design team to explore materials (metals, gemstones, etc.) and create a design that will fit your personal aesthetic, lifestyle, and budget.
We do charge a small consultation fee ($150.00) to hold the appointment. If you decide to put your design into production, this fee will be applied as a credit towards your total price.
Deposits are required before a design can go into production and are generally half (50%) of the item's estimated total price, though this percentage may vary slightly from piece to piece.
Manufacturing time is generally 4-6 weeks from the finalization of your design. If you need your design sooner, we will do our best to be accommodating, but 'rush fees' may apply.
Once your item is created, we will contact you to schedule an appointment for inspection/pick up.
We pride ourselves in doing things right the first time, but if anything is not to your satisfaction, this is the time to let us know so that we can make corrections/adjustments.
If you are satisfied with your piece, the remaining balance will be collected and you walk out with your custom-made jewelry!
How long does manufacturing take?
Manufacturing is generally completed within 4-6 weeks from the finalization of your design.
If you need your design sooner, we will do our best to be accommodating, but 'rush fees' may apply.
How much does a custom piece cost?
While the total price will vary from piece to piece (based on the materials and labor required) there are a couple of things that remain consistent:
1. $150.00 Consultation Fee
This charge is required to hold your appointment and will be applied as a credit towards your total cost when your piece is put into production.
2. 50% Deposit
Deposits are generally half (50%) of the item's estimated total price, though this percentage may vary slightly from piece to piece.

Can I redesign an already existing piece?
Yes, we are always honored to help re-imagine your heirloom and sentimental jewelry. Whether you want to restore your jewelry to their former glory or completely re-design them for a new look, Aunty Erin will make sure your jewelry is set to last for future generations.
Are appraisals free for custom designs?
Yes, any design created and manufactured through Aunty Erin's Estate & Fine Jewelry comes with a complementary written appraisal - $195.00 value.
We also offer appraisals for items produced elsewhere, though we do have to charge for this service.
